Optical field measurement

The second section of Experimental technics is Optical field measurement. It is mainly based on the use of laser. A remind of optics and the theory of laser are explained. Some methods are proposed such as Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and their evolutions to 3D.

At the end of the 2 courses, the student will be able to

have a good background in experimental fluid dynamics,

select the best method for an experimental fluid mechanics problem,

analyze, define precisely the setup and compute the uncertainties.
