Industrial & Research Seminars

Dedicated seminars given by Engineers from industry or guest lecturers at the laboratories will be attended by students to show them the potential of what they are being taught and the possibilities for academic or industrial careers.

Examples of seminars

Laser diagnostics in turbomachinery applications” by Christian WILLERT from DLR Institute of Propulsion Technology, Koeln, Germany

“A Self-similar Adverse Pressure Gradient Turbulent Boundary Layer” by Professor Julio SORIA, from Laboratory for Turbulence Research in Aerospace and Combustion (LTRAC), Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

“Extreme events, entropies and instantons for turbulence and water waves” by Joachim Peinke, from Wind, Institute of Physics, University of Oldenburg, Oldenburg, Germany

“Adaptive Separation Control of a Laminar Boundary Layer using Online Dynamic Mode Decomposition”, by Louis Cattafesta, from Department of Material, Mechanical, and Aerospace Engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA,

Students are invited to take part in a weekly scientific seminar/webinar at the LMFL and PPRIME laboratories, which will give them an insight into the world’s top-level research in the fields taught in the Master’s program. The talks of the LMFL’s webinar serie are available on youtube
